Wilberforce Barracks
- Wilberforce Barracks, located in Freetown, Sierra Leone, is one of the country’s most significant military installations and holds deep historical and strategic importance. Named after William Wilberforce, the British abolitionist who played a key role in ending the transatlantic slave trade, the barracks were established in the early 19th century as part of Britain’s colonial military infrastructure. It remains one of the oldest standing military sites in Sierra Leone and serves as the headquarters of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).
